Hi! I’m Amanda.

I am a new mom, a strategic visual communicator, and a nature lover. I have visited 25+ U.S. National Parks, crave road trips, eat all the things (except gluten for this Celiac), and travel as much as I can. Our Capitol Hill community means the world to me.

Originally an elementary special education major, I later chose to pursue a more creative field and my passion for photography.  Since taking my first photography class at a summer camp in third grade, my love for photography has only grown stronger.  Growing up, I was always the girl with a camera in my hand (before cell phone cameras).

I continued to learn my craft working hands on and embracing every educational opportunity, managing a school photography division, studying under and working alongside internationally known photographers and educators, managing the retouching and design department at a post-production company, and serving as a staff photographer and visual communications lead for government agencies. I’ve worked as a professional photographer since 2005 but I’m never done learning.

My focus today is on cultivating my craft through traditional and documentary portraiture, fine-art nature and landscape work, environmental conservation advocacy, stewardship and providing special needs families with photography services that meet their child's unique needs.
